This is an interesting article on the pros and cons of adding fluoride to our drinking water, which, for roughly 75% of Americans has been done for decades. The benefits are well known – it saves roughly $38 in reduced dental costs for each dollar spent in adding the fluoride to our drinking water.
There are negatives however. Almost anything you do for the population in general will have a negative impact on some. This article highlights some of the issues – in teeth discoloration and issues with the thyroid for example.
