Dehydration and heat stroke can be quite serious, especially for the elderly, so given that summer is here, it’s a good time to think about this topic – electric fans. According to this article, if you are not able to ride through the next heat wave in comfort with air conditioning, be careful if you rely on electric fans to keep you cool. There is evidence, they say, that if the temperature is very high, blowing hot air on your body with an electric fan may not be healthy – no matter how logical that seems. This article doesn’t provide proof that you should throw out your electric fans – but it does give you something to think about, especially if you have loved ones that are either very young – or old.
