The “5 second rule” we’ve followed for dropped food items, according to this article, is flawed. In other words, if you can pick it up within 5 minutes it isn’t necessarily safe to eat. As with most “rules” of this sort, there are some shades of grey to the situation. This is an nteresting article – and well worth your time if you have a toddler at home!
